About

How is this food tour different?

Taranaki Taste and Tales is a behind-the-scenes food tour around some of Taranaki's best food producers.  We have a variety of trails to choose from and because most of our producers are boutique, we have a maximum group size of about 12 at each location.  This means our trail goers get a unique and personal opportunity to chat with each owner operator as they tell their stories and tales.

How does it work?

Trail goers first choose the trail they wish to go on, then they purchase a ticket which provides a seat on one of the minibuses for that trail.  If you have a group of friends you'd like to participate with, you can purchase seats together, or purchase the whole 10 tickets for the minibus!

You will then be driven to each of the producers on that trail, so you are free to sit back, relax and enjoy the food tastings and beverages on offer.  There will also be an opportunity at most locations to purchase their product, so you can take a little more home to enjoy.  There will be approximately four or five minibuses on each trail, starting at different points to ensure we keep the groups small at each location.

What People Say

Absolutely love to go again! In fact I would go again tomorrow!

I found all the businesses really interesting and they have worked so hard to make each one a success

This was a great event and a great way to find out about other food producers that are right under our noses and not so well advertised
