Locally owned and operating in New Plymouth for over 30 years - Egmont Seafoods is all about high quality fish and seafood. Father and Son team Keith and Caleb Mawson run the operation, which includes their very popular shop, open six days a week. They will give you an interesting insight into the fishing industry, how they operate and the rolls of their staff, as well as what they consider to be the best type of fish for different home cooked dishes! They and are happy to chat about the challenges and regulations in the industry, including the growth of their online shop and delivery service during the lockdowns. You will of course get to try the freshest of fish served up by local sushi restaurant, Sushi Ninja.
Tiger Town Pies
Rated as making the best pies in town, Pip, a well known local photographer and owner/creator of Tiger Town Pies, continues to experiment with new flavours while ensuring old favourites are available. Pip is particular with her ingredients, ensuring she uses top quality pastry and locally sauced meat and veggies. Once you bite into these succulent and tender pies, you can tell there has been a lot of care taken with the long cooking time of the meat - one of the things Pip insists sets her pies apart from others. While visiting Pip on this trail you may be lucky to try one of her more exotic pies such as Paua, Venison Red Wine and Mushroom or one of the newest editions, the Eggs Benedict Pie. The perfect treat for the middle of winter!

Come and visit her in her custom built bakery, where she bakes traditionally fermented sourdough bread and cookies and brews sparkling kombucha.
