About the event

New Plymouth

Hope on a minivan with a friend or two and visit...

Egmont Seafood

Locally owned and operating in New Plymouth for over 30 years - Egmont Seafoods is all about high quality fish and seafood.  Father and Son team Keith and Caleb Mawson run the operation, which includes their very popular shop, open six days a week.  They will give you an interesting insight into the fishing industry, how they operate and the rolls of their staff, as well as what they consider to be the best type of fish for different home cooked dishes!  They and are happy to chat about the challenges and regulations in the industry, including the growth of their online shop and delivery service during the lockdowns.  You will of course get to try the freshest of fish served up by local sushi restaurant, Sushi Ninja.

Tiger Town Pies

Rated as making the best pies in town, Pip, a well known local photographer and owner/creator of Tiger Town Pies, continues to experiment with new flavours while ensuring old favourites are available.  Pip is particular with her ingredients, ensuring she uses top quality pastry and locally sauced meat and veggies.  Once you bite into these succulent and tender pies, you can tell there has been a lot of care taken with the long cooking time of the meat - one of the things Pip insists sets her pies apart from others.  While visiting Pip on this trail you may be lucky to try one of her more exotic pies such as Paua, Venison Red Wine and Mushroom or one of the newest editions, the Eggs Benedict Pie.  The perfect treat for the middle of winter!

Villa Bumblebee

Have you ever tasted the full flavour profile of a traditional sourdough bread?  Franziska from Bumblebee Bakery has German bread culture running through her veins and is passionate about reigniting the love story between humans and their daily bread.  Come and visit her in her custom built bakery, where she  bakes traditionally fermented sourdough bread and cookies and brews sparkling kombucha.  Learn about the significance of sourdough bread, witness different steps of the bread making process and sample an array of oven fresh bread together with a refreshing glass of homemade kombucha.  Seedy Rye Bread, Milk & Honey Sourdough, Olive Oil Focaccia? Try them with fresh butter and find your favourite!

Treasured Morning

When granola guru Liz O'Callaghan, decided to move her business from Auckland, she knew Taranaki was the perfect place to dive deeper into growing her superfood business, Treasured Morning. Originally branded High Protein Breakfast, her granola-style breakfast provides a tasty, crunchy blend of superfoods to fuel a healthier, happier, more energetic you.  There are three different flavours to enjoy; Apple Crumble, Peach & Nectarine, and Berry. Whether you mix Treasured Morning with yoghurt, sprinkle it over pancakes, or pour some right into a bit of milk - you're sure to find a favourite way to add this delicious, filling food to your brekkie routine!  Liz will provide a generous taste of each product while talking to you about how she carefully selected all the superfoods to ensure that her customers have the best start to their morning or a boost of additional nutrients at any time of the day!

Mike’s Brewery

Featuring 28 taps (18 of which are Mike's own brews) with a comprehensive selection of locally brewed beers and ciders Mike’s has been in business for over 30 years, making them the oldest real craft brewery in New Zealand.  Ron Trigg certainly knows his stuff, and tells an engaging tale about the beer brewing processes as well as providing you with a taste of their popular brews.
